getting nervoussssss, westminster interview tomorrow. not my first choice but i'd be happy to get in.
i'm worried i've missed something, i've spent all night thinking about what i'm going to ask and what i'm going to say when they ask me about my work. i hate interviews and just talking to people on the spot, i'm so so bad at it.

This is probably going to be crap advice you've already had from your parents, but just take your time in the interview. If you find yourself babbling or repeating yourself, stop and take a second to collect your thoughts. They'll be seeing tons of people in their late teens; everyone else will be as nervous as you, and they won't judge you poorly for it. Failing that, employ the old interview body language techniques - lean in when they talk to show you are interested, lean back when you talk to act relaxed, use the important words they use in your sentences too, don't fiddle, do smile, and remember that the worse than can possibly happen is that they say no and you spend a year getting some life experience that will guaruntee you a place next time.
Oh, and good luck Smile

Thank you! Fiddling with my hands is what i'm best at, AH dear. The one thing on my mind is the questions.. My teacher told me to think of some as they always like it when students ask questions, showing an interest an that.. But I can't think of any! |:

Questions about your course are a good starting point, like what range of subjects you could study. If you are being interviewed by one of your potential lecturers and they mention their own speciality, express an interest and ask a follow up question about this, and if you have any knowledge of it already, show it off. Asking general questions about the university like what sort of sports and clubs (hobby clubs, not night ones, obv!) are popular is good too.

Also, wor other half has just chimed in to add that they will ask you why you are doing the course, and what you hope to achieve through it. I would suggest prepping an answer for this, even if it is bollocks, like "I want to do history because I am interested in the current state of the world and I am keen to develop my critical thinking about what influences it and how we got here," rather than "I want to do history because it seems like a nice three year doss."

(Former history student here, so no offence intended to anyone here. It is a proper doss course, though.)

This is Charn's post from the first page of this thread:
Charn wrote:found an amazing pair of shoes and now I can't stop thinking about them. Like, I even dreamt about them last night. My dream life was so awesome with those shoes. So I'm gonna go buy those shoes. Ah wow.

If you change the word "shoes" every time it appears in this post to the word "jeans" then this happens:

You better not have been keeping this video from us, Charn, or I'll be upset. This could've became my favourite song two months ago rather than having to wait until last week to discover it.
