I'm a butthurt hardcore fanboy and YD are pish...

Nah I kid, I'm gonna check out the new record tonight and see if I can change my opinion on these boys. Wasn't a massive fan of 'The Kids We Used To Be' but 'Shine On' and 'Miles Away' were brilliant tracks. Don't think i'll ever be a big fan of Ed's vox though.

I'm indifferent, they weren't my cup of tea when they supported ES in 2009, and they're still not my cup of tea.
Also there's a music subforum. Goddamn, stop writing in paragraphs. Am I fuck reading them.

Must be trolling?

Sorry, but the clean vocals on this album are terrible. The songs which are meant to be 'pop punk' are so awful its beyond belief. They may say they are trying new genres, but it doesn't mean they have done them well. I have to skip more than half the album, it's very frustrating. And no, I don't prefer George Noble era days, I thought the Kids We Used To Be was their best stuff. TGA is utter tripe.

Oh, and their new attitude doesn't help. 'The Golden Age is coming'. I know it's tongue in cheek, but eurgh.

Edit: And when was did it become all about owning as much clothes and shit as possible? T'is a fucking joke.

i can't believe all these people moaning about owning fucking clothes and what they're wearing. shit me. so bands should dress like fucking scruffs just so they don't look like they're in it for the fashion?
everyone in the world goes shopping and wears clothes they like.
so do that band. fuck man.

Of course everyone owns clothes, but the amount of different clothes Ed wears in the video for These Lights is a bit excessive, and strange how he was constantly getting changed. I know it may be a comment on/related to on the kids we used to be... video, but still. My main problem with the new material isn't the embrace of consumerism, either.

i'm yet to listen to the new record but i'm sure it's alright.
my main quirp is that if a new band put that material out, people would dig it. cause it's yd, people wanna hate it.
it's very h20 / old offspring esque, which i dig.

and the clothes changes are to make it look like it's not all in one shot surely. freshen each scene up a bit. he didn't edit it, whoever edited it chose the snappy clothes changes, not him.

I like YD, but I can only enjoy about half the album, Ed's clean vocals on this, and most the guest vocals, i.e. Josh Franshit, just don't do it for me. The clothes thing doesn't bother me that much, just weird to put so many cuts of him in so many different outfits ha. Probably doesn't help that the song is awful.

I don't give a fuck what a band does or sings about, if they make good music I dig them. Dre raps about bitches, blunts and 40" widescreens and he's the shit.

YD however, are shite.

I personally thought that book was garbage.
He didn't learn anything throughout the whole book.
He goes from being a sad boy who tries to do something important and become to a sad man whom just has gave up and has learned to just deal with his meaningless existence.

A few of my mates told me to read The Catcher In The Rye because apparently Holden reminded them of me (lol), I asked them to get it for me as one of my birthday presents and can't read more than a few chapters every few months. Too depressing and whiny for me! The Perks of Being a Wallflower/Submarine however are amazing books that were inspired by CITR, highly recommend!

Uk vocab is really starting to rub off on me. Urge to tell someone off today and the first thing that sprang to mind was "sod off". What is my life.

What's some Canadian slang we can use in exchange, then? The only specifically Canadian word I know is 'tabernac' and I've been warned to not even think that word when I go to Montreal next month.

You could call someone a Hoser I guess, but I don't even use that word. It's not even that derogatory, really.
Other then saying Eh from time to time, Canadians don't really have slang that stands out (that I know of). It's pretty much the same as Americans/the stuff you'd hear on American TV.

Yeaaaah avoid that word, they don't take kindly to people hatin' on the church there. :S
