Chris' Vocal Problems ....

Post by nicola.the.hunter on Fri 28 Aug 2009, 7:48 am

'So i hope you are prepared to see some horrible shit... Some of you may be aware i have been stuggling with vocal problems related to an acid reflux situation. Basically where stomach acids used to digest food etc, are over produced and end up travelling up the throat and aggravate it. After months of taking medication for it with no real success, i decided to visit a specialist who wanted to shove a tube with a camera on down my throat and into my poor little tummy. It was by far the most horrible experience i can remember. Laying on my side, heaving with my whole body, eyes watering, throwing up a fair amount... i feel sorry for the poor nurse who decided to grab my hand, i have no idea how hard i squeezed it. Anyway, i thought i'd share the disgusting pictures of my tummy with you. I apologise in advance, it's not very happy viewing. But you know, sharing is caring! Smile The yellow bits are excessive amounts of bile which may be causing me problems. Chris.x'

The thing he did is in the department of endoscopy. When i did my work expirience I saw some of the patients go through what he did. It actually looks painful. At least you get given an injection to relax/make it less painful, which the doctor described to me as 'having a bottle of wine' haha.
