I was going to say! Still that's not all that bad, I reckon minus flights it could be quite cheap.

Re: Japan - March
the cheapest i got flight last time was just over £500 and i only booked a few days before i went
but Japan is an expensive place, no £1 chicken and chip shops
, but i know there are some cheap hostels and hotels to be found
not sure how cheap can get everything for Lee, depends on how many days you planning to go for, it was £2000 for 9 days for me, but i picked a place a could get a bus from the airport to hotel easily
plus if traveling around, the Bullet Train is expensive, cost me £50 return for 1 gig to the another and it only took an hour and a bit

Oh yeah, going on the Shinkansen, it's about £15 to Nagoya from Osaka and about £26 from Nagoya to Tokyo.
I should be doing work.

Re: Japan - March
What about getting the Trans-Seberian railway, any cheaper than flights? sure ryanair would be cheap to Moscow, then train it to Bejing then another cheap flight. Would be a mission in terms of number of days, but may work out cheaper?
Re: Japan - March
Ryanair don't fly to Moscow, the Trans-Siberian doesn't go to China, and that would involve a haft of visa work; remember that China is a communist country and doesn't really enjoy folk just traipsing in when they feel like it.

It depends. Supply n demand an all that. People dont even need to book for it to change, if no one searches that flight on that date, itl drop. if loadsa people search it (even igf no one books) the price will go up, as the airline assumes demand is high for that date for whatever reason.
Its £472 today. For some reason, if you want to go to Japan and fly home the day you arrive, its nearly £3000. Iv no idea why 9I didnt search this, I just clicked the flexible dates button).
When i first searched my flights to Australia, i was like "thats fairly reasonable", when I booked it 3 weeks later the price had fallen by almost £100, similarly, it could have gone up by that.
jennie will be able to explain this better than me, being a travel agent (and one without fat calves as well)
Re: Japan - March
let me know who is def up for this
my friend in Japan found a hostel in Osaka that can fit up to 3 in a room for around £30 to £40 a nite
will have to look around for Tokyo, hoping to stay in Shibuya again, lots of Japanese girls there for me
and i prob wouldn't be getting the same flight as mentioned, i prefer direct flights
